Yes, I'm Still Making an Effort...

It's been a while since I blogged!  We realized a dream of building a (small) house at the beach.  Several years ago, we were lucky to find a tiny parcel of land in short sale.  We made the bank a low offer and - to our joyous surprise - they accepted the offer.  The picture in the About Me section of my blog is our dog looking at the lot not long after purchase.  We waited until our youngest child was finished with college and then started the process of building a house.  We had drawn sketches and finally found an engineer who would turn them into real, workable house plans.  We were fortunate to find a builder who will probably be a lifelong friend.  Over a year after starting the process, we moved into the house in mid-September.  Furnished with Ikea and consignment shop finds, we love it!  For the past nine months, I worked to make quilts, pillow shams, pillow covers, window curtains, shower curtains, and more.  We refinished tables and chairs for our dining area.  If you are on Instagram and would like to see pictures of the process,  search #1112Bonito.

After the above and a wonderful holiday season with family, it is time to get back to work.  I'm currently working on pieces for my Etsy shop ragpiecesbypope.  If you are interested, the address of the shop is https://www.etsy.com/shop/ragpiecesbypope .  The bag below is the latest addition to the shop, a durable tote bag made from canvas and home decor fabrics.
